Rob McIntosh's May Report

I’m sure many of you have heard the Navajo people have been hit really hard by the virus. The effects of Covid-19 will be long lasting. As of right now I have heard of at least 12 pastors who have passed from the virus and we have had more people in our church family and community come down with it. Please pray for us as we continue to feel the effects. For the past eight weeks or so I have been working with the NNCRT (Navajo Nation Christian Response Team) to help provide food for people who have caught the virus or been affected by quarantines and the need to shelter in place. We have had several from the church help with this as well. So far, through that program we have been able to get almost 2,200 food packages out to people all over the east side of the nation. I want to thank those of you who have sent help our way for that ministry.

As restrictions and curfews begin to be lifted, I am going to be transitioning from the NNCRT into the recovery of the ministry in the Church Rock community and Creator’s Fellowship church family. As some of you may have heard, we received a HEART Fund Grant from the WMU. I want to thank the WMU and all of you who have sent extra funds or supplies to Creator’s Fellowship at this time. These funds will help us to make a difference in so many lives. Many of our people have been out of work for the past 10+ weeks and some are really concerned about whether it is really safe to be going out. All this help will be essential as we transition into the “new normal” and we seek to continue the ministry that we were sent here to do. If things continue on the path that we are on, it is our hope to begin services outside at the park where everyone can spread out or even stay in their vehicle, beginning June 14th. My mind races with all the challenges that are ahead.

Thank you to those of you who have prayed and reached out to help with our transportation issue. We know that the work truck I run is going to eventually need to be replaced, so for a little over a year we have been saving up for when the need came. Praise the Lord we had been doing that, but it was Michele’s truck that died. Because of your prayers, the savings, and God’s provision through your gifts we have replaced her truck with a new to us truck (with payments within our budget). We should be able to get many years of service out of this vehicle, but please keep praying. The work truck has to last a whole lot longer!

Above are two amazing people, working to hand out food on my last day with the NNCRT. Can you guess who they are?
